Once again, Spain is proving a magnet for foreign property investors especially the properties for sale in Marbella with foreigners now comprising 20% of the population, and data from the Housing Department at the Ministry of Public Works highlighting significant growth in the number of buyers during the first half of 2014.
Sales to foreigners rose 36% this year compared to the first six months of 2013, with a total value of €4.2 billion compared to €3.1 billion the previous year.
True to form, Málaga-Costa del Sol is the region registering the highest number of property sales in Andalucía, valued at €975 million.
Of the 2,944 property transactions that took place across the region, 2,211 were in the province of Málaga, the vast majority for investments in ready built properties, the rest for new build homes.
As impressive as these latest figures are, it´s of equal importance to look at what the underlying message actually is: Buyers are voting with their wallets, placing confidence in a growing market, attracted by the unique range and quality of Costa del Sol properties, and placing trust in only the most professional sales agents.
“Consumer reassurance is likely to make a substantial difference in this highly competitive market,” the Association of International Property Professionals confirms, evidenced by buyers´ personal experience of the different approach, courteous service and attentive nature of Paradise Marbella Realty personnel.
“[The] right estate agent is 80% of the success of the whole process. Specifically when you are looking for a home in a foreign country. Myself and my husband found Arek while we were searching a property on the internet – being in South Africa and planning to buy a property in Spain, Costa del Sol. From 10 or 20 agents we approached, he was the one who reacted to our e-mails fast and professionally. I advise all potential buyers of properties to deal with his company – you will never regret [it]!”

With its focus on attracting incoming tourists, Málaga-Costa del Sol featured prominently at last week´s World Travel Market event in London, where the dual objective of converting exhibition visitors first into holidaymakers in 2015, and subsequently into residential property investors was made all the easier thanks to the less than accommodating weather on offer in the UK.
