Summer is well and truly here and Marbella’s many attractions are already apparent to those who are familiar with this sunny coastal city. For those who don’t quite yet know Marbella like the back of their hand, the sheer number of fabulous attractions and activities this place offers can make choosing a way to spend your time difficult.
This is especially so if your time here is limited. Whether you’re just here on a summer holiday, or you’re an aspiring expat visiting to check out properties for sale in Marbella, you’ll probably have a similar goal: to discover the ‘crème da le crème’ in Marbella.
That’s where Paradise Marbella can help. We’re going to assume that for at least one day, you would like to enjoy a beach club experience. Even if this isn’t the kind of thing you usually do, we highly recommend at least one indulgent day lounging in luxury on a sunbed by the pool. At beach clubs you have the best of both worlds: the sea and the pool.
Here are three of the best beach clubs in Marbella:
- La Sala
La Sala is a big name around Marbella, as was Buddha Beach, its original name. For the last five years it has been called La Sala by the Sea, and it was one of Marbella’s original ‘boutique’ clubs.
It has many attractive features, from a rock pool jacuzzi to a spa, and there is always plenty of live music, all day long. Celebrity live acts are not uncommon either; people such as Alexander O’Neill and Soul II Soul have performed at this beach club.
If you get hungry – or thirsty – there are three champagne bars at La Sala’s Beach Club and a world-class restaurant with superb and diverse dishes here, from Spanish to Thai – and lots of seafood. The La Sala restaurants in Marbella have a strong reputation for good reason. If it’s good enough for the rich and famous, we expect that you too will be wowed by the quality.
Find La Sala Beach Club on Playa Nueve Andalucia, Puerto Banus.
- Nikki Beach
Nikki Beach has beach clubs in many countries; even as far away as Thailand. It is famous for total luxury and indulgence. Here in Marbella it has been live and kicking since 2003 and has not lost an ounce of its popularity. Like most beach clubs you can find stunning tropical gardens, a great swimming pool, and VIP beds with therapeutic sea views. VIPs can even enjoy a terrace overlooking the sea.
At Nikki beach there is an outdoor restaurant and a bar built right in the centre; accessible from all angles, just as many people like it! These are not the only wining and dining options at Nikki Beach though; there are several other bars and a chiringuito for snacks and smaller dishes. Luxury often means boutiques, and that is the case here at Nikki Beach.
The events are one of the major draws to this beach club though. It’s all about the party, and Nikki Beach doubles up as a very popular nightclub in the evening. This club hosts all kinds of parties, dances and contests. The full moon parties are one not to be missed if you love this lifestyle, but the live music, DJs and dancers are a feast for the senses on any given day.
This beach club can be found at Don Carlos Hotel beach.
- Ocean Club Marbella
Ocean Club is impressive for size factor alone. It is one of Europe’s biggest clubs, and it has an amazing pool that is a massive thousandsquare metres. With one hundred and fifty quality sun loungers, there is plenty of space to relax in style, but because of its popularity, we suggest booking early.
There’s also a chill out zone that can comfortably fit five hundred people, and it is frequently used for events. As can be expected, there is a beautiful spa where you can get an unforgettable massage.
Like the two beach clubs above, Ocean Club has several bars, plenty of shops and a huge restaurant that can fit in every single person who has taken a sun lounger! This restaurant caters for a wide variety of tastes, and you can find everything from Indian, Indonesian and Thai food to sushi, pizza, and classic Mediterranean dishes.
You can find Ocean Club Marbella on Avenida Lola Flores, Puerto Banús.
…and the rest
Marbella has many gorgeous beaches, and where there are beaches, there are opulent beach clubs! If the ones above don’t appeal to you there will surely be another that does, so look around. Most of the clubs here give those in Saint Tropez a run for their money, and that’s saying something.
The name ‘club’ is a little misleading though; don’t worry, you don’t have to be a member to go along. You won’t need to bring much along except your swimming costume, and of course some Euros; the club will offer water and towels to their guests, so no need to bring those.
Don’t forget that you may well need to book a sunbed ahead of your visit, especially with the most popular beach clubs. If booking isn’t an option, you’ll probably have to pay something to get in.
If you weren’t after a property for sale in Marbella before, we would hazard a guess that you might be thinking of it now. If so, Paradise Marbella may just be holding the keys to your ideal home. There’s only one way to find out!
