Whether you’re just passing through, you’re here on holiday or you’re investigating properties for sale in Marbella, you’ve already got reason enough to be here. We wouldn’t mind betting we can find a few more reasons you haven’t yet thought of, though. Who knows, they might be worth adding to your spring/summer agenda!
As we’ve said before, the Costa del Sol is a very entertaining place. That is the case whether you are a retired couple, a young singleton, a businessman, a family of four, or a young child. You get the idea – the Sunshine Coast has something for everyone! This is what makes it such a cultural hotpot, and that in turn gives it some of its famous vibrancy.
The Costa del Sol has plenty of attractions for those looking for a day’s entertainment. There are many amusement parks; water parks, aquariums, safaris, adventure playgrounds, theme parks, zoos, go karting centres, cable cars and many more. Whether you would have enough spare time to get through them all in one season is in question… all the more reason to stay, then!
In fact, the Costa del Sol has more amusement parks than any other area – it’s impossible to get bored! Here are some of the most popular:
Bioparc in Fuengirola is one of the world’s most famous zoos and it is the winner of various awards. This is because the zoo has been created with respect for both animals and nature. Bioparc’s main goal is the preservation of natural species, so they do not hold animals captive in cages but recreate their natural habitat and allow them to coexist this way. It’s considered to be more of a ‘zoological park’ than a typical zoo, and the tropical habitat is incredible.
Benalmádena is home to various attractions, not least of which is a magnificent cable car journey. Climbing high over a 700m slope, your cable car will reach the Calamorro Peak, giving you a tremendous perspective; from here you can see the beautiful Costa del Sol coastline. Total exhilaration!
Tivoli World Benalmádena is a popular amusement park. It’s a big hit with families, as would be expected, thanks to its diverse range of rides and restaurants. Thrill seekers certainly won’t want to miss out on the rides, but Tivoli World has more to offer than adrenaline rushes: there are entertaining shows for all ages including galas, concerts and theatre… and when you want to relax, check out the museum or take a stroll through the beautiful gardens to catch your breath by the fountains.
Benalmádena’s world famous marina is home to Sea Life, an aquarium with a difference. Sea Life has a similar attitude to Bioparc: their motto is “breed, rescue, protect” and there is a big focus on conservation. You can take advantage of their ‘premium experiences’ including seeing pack sharks and gorillas, playing mini golf, or getting a behind the scenes tour; there are interactive sessions, games and activities, and of course you can meet dolphins, turtles and an array of other beautiful sea creatures.
Funny Beach Marbella
Funny Beach Marbella is no laughing matter, contrary to its name. This is where you go for serious fun! There’s go karting for one, and plenty of aquatic activities such as jet skiing, hoverboarding, paddle surfing, banana boating, pedal boating, donuts and kayaking. Safety is taken seriously too, so it’s kiddie friendly, and when you’ve built up an inevitable appetite, you can dine at Tango Beach.
Selwo Safari Park
Selwo Aventura is a safari-style park located in Estepona. This is the closest you’ll get to an African adventure here in Europe, and again, animal welfare is taken seriously here. In their own words,“the varied orography and amplitude of the park allows the animals to live in controlled environments which reproduce their habitats of origin.” Selwo safari park aims to innovate and educate as well as facilitating lots of fun for its visitors. Get your khakis on and dig out the binoculars… this makes for an unforgettable day out!
Parque Aquatico Mijas Water Park
This water park in Mijas Costa is worth visiting at least once. You can’t leave the Sunshine Coast without having got wet and (aside from the many beautiful beaches here) this is just the place to do so. The Mijas Aquatic Park is home to daredevil slides like the Kamikaze, the Adventure River, and the aptly named Labyrinth Slides; aimed at adolescents and adults, the name of the game is high speed and challenge! Younger kids will be comfortable on the kiddie slides, in the little pools, and on Lizard Island. Once dried off you can head for the rock climbing wall, the mini golf, or even go and see a live show. Adults wanting to relax or refuel can indulge in a massage or visit the onsite bar and restaurant.
You probably already know that properties in the Costa del Sol, Spain are some of the most sought after in the world. With access to so much fun and relaxation, it’s little wonder why… what a life! If you feel like joining us more permanently on the Sunshine Coast, congratulations! Paradise Marbella will be ready and waiting for your call.
